When I moved back to my home town of Henley-on-Thames after years of working in hospitality in London & New York and found no independent food shop in the town, something in me clicked. I grew up in a very foodie household - my father a wonderful cook and my mother a well respected wine journalist. The long time dream I had of opening a food shop, that had sparked in this very town and only grew as I worked in the industry could be a reality. And then the pandemic hit. But thats actually where the rocket was ignited to get moving. If not now the when?

Having had the great pleasure of working with some amazing chefs who championed British food producers I knew thats where the heart of the larder should be. Cheerleading small producers of British food and drink.

With a great deal of will power and determination the first gorgeous little shop opened on Bell Street, Henley-on-Thames in October 2020.

And what a journey its been since then from realising that gift hampers would be a key part of the business, to having a cake counter of dreams, making picnics for groups big and small, tasting events, opening our gorgeous cafe Henley-on-Toast, winning Great Taste Retailer of the Year
